First Farmers is proud to promote the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI) Foundation’s Annual Essay Scholarship Contest! The contest increases awareness of locally owned banks and their contributions to their communities. Any high school senior intending to pursue higher education is encouraged to apply.
An information and application packet is available at all First Farmers banking locations and can also be downloaded with the links below. The packet includes contest rules and essay criteria. Applicants are strongly encouraged to thoroughly read the rules as submissions that do not comply with the rules will be disqualified.

Applicants must submit their documentation to any First Farmers bank location by 5:00p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. There will be no exceptions, and submissions received after this date will not be considered.
The top monetary prize of $4,000 ($1,000 a year for up to four years of higher education) will be given to the student whose essay is judged the best from among all of the CBAI regions in Illinois. The high school of the overall winner will additionally receive $500. If the overall winner is from First Farmers’ region, there will also be a $500 second-prize winner selected. If the overall winner is not from the local region, then there will be a $1,000 first-place and $500 second-place winner.
Essays will be evaluated for overall quality and understanding of the contest rules. Up to three entries will be chosen from all received and sent to CBAI for further consideration. CBAI will select the winners by early May 2019 and announce to us shortly thereafter.
